Accessibility Statement

We, the team behind Shapo, are committed to making Shapo — the web application and the iOS and Android apps — usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We see accessibility as part of the quality of the Service, not an add-on, and we work to improve it continuously.

1. The law and the standard we work to

The Service is an internet service within the meaning of the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law, 5758-1998, and the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 5773-2013 (regulation 35). We work to Israeli Standard IS 5568 part 1 (2023), which adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 at level AA, and we aim at WCAG 2.1 level AA as a wider target. In the iOS and Android apps, which are built on the same interface, the WCAG success criteria are applied as far as they are relevant, together with the accessibility features of each operating system (VoiceOver and TalkBack, dynamic text sizes, high-contrast and reduced-motion settings).

2. What we have done

  • Structure and navigation: meaningful headings, landmarks (header, navigation, main content), a "skip to content" link on the web, and focus that moves to the page heading on navigation.
  • Keyboard and assistive technology: every control is a real button or link and can be operated by keyboard; icon-only buttons carry text labels for screen readers; progress indicators and status messages are announced through live regions; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology and informative images have alternative text.
  • Text and colour: the interface uses relative units so text scales with your browser or system setting; colours were chosen to meet the AA contrast ratio; information is never conveyed by colour alone.
  • Touch and motion: tap targets are at least 44×44 pixels; animations are reduced or disabled when your device asks for reduced motion.
  • Language and direction: the whole Service is available in Hebrew (right-to-left) and English (left-to-right), and the page language is declared so screen readers pronounce it correctly.
  • Forms: fields have visible labels, errors are described in text, and sign-in forms work with password managers and autofill.

3. How we test

We test with current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge on desktop, Safari on iOS and Chrome on Android, with VoiceOver (iOS and macOS) and TalkBack (Android), and with keyboard-only navigation. Accessibility is reviewed as part of every significant change to the interface. This statement was last reviewed on the date shown at the top of the page.

4. Known limitations

Despite our efforts, some content may not be fully accessible:

  • Product images and descriptions originate with the retailers and manufacturers; their images may lack meaningful alternative text, and their descriptions are shown as published.
  • Retailers' websites opened inside the app are third-party services under the retailer's control; their accessibility is the retailer's responsibility.
  • The map view relies on a third-party map component with limited keyboard and screen-reader support; the same information is available as a list.
  • Advertising, where it appears, is marked as such but may not be fully accessible.
  • New features may reach the Service before their accessibility review is complete; we correct issues as soon as they are found.

If you encounter any barrier, please tell us — see section 6 — and we will provide the information or service in an alternative accessible way while we fix it.

5. Exemptions and physical accessibility

We rely on no exemption under the regulations. Shapo is an online service only: we have no offices or premises open to the public, so there are no physical accessibility arrangements to publish. Because we employ fewer than 25 people, the law does not require us to appoint an accessibility coordinator; the contact below is responsible for accessibility.

6. Contact us about accessibility

  • Accessibility contact: the Shapo team
  • E-mail: shapo.app@gmail.com

To help us help you, please tell us the page or screen, what you were trying to do, the device, browser or app version, and the assistive technology you use. We aim to reply within 5 business days and to fix the barrier, or provide an accessible alternative, as quickly as we can and in any event within the time the regulations allow (60 days from your notice).

7. The enforcement authority

If you feel your request was not answered properly, you may contact the Commission for Equal Rights of Persons with Disabilities at the Ministry of Justice (נציבות שוויון זכויות לאנשים עם מוגבלות), telephone *6763, or through its website on gov.il.

8. Publication

This statement is published in the app under Account → Accessibility statement and at https://shapo.store/legal/accessibility, in Hebrew and in English; in case of any inconsistency, the Hebrew version prevails. Statement version 1.2, dated 8 October 2026.
